CATHI WINSLOW, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Cathi Winslow's original plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles and Thunder Bay. She studied dramatic writing at Interlochen Arts Academy and New York University, where she wrote, directed and acted in a variety of plays. As a student, she won the Scholastic National Writing Award for Dramatic Script (1984). In Thunder Bay, she has created original works for Redwood Park Players, Plunge Student Ministries, and the 10By10 Playwrights' Showcase, as well as stage managing two plays for New Noise Productions. Cathi collaborated to develop three of her full-length plays in workshop readings with Cambrian Players, Redwood Park Players, and Rogue Productions. She has facilitated writing workshops and also published poems and short fiction in various literary reviews, including Grain and The Fiddlehead. She supports other writers as a member of the Northwestern Ontario Writers' Workshop, which has featured her work in two public readings. |
JELENA PSENICNIK, PRODUCTION MANAGER
Jelena received training in classical dance and modern movement in Venezuela. She is a graduate of the Studio 58 Theatre School in Vancouver and since arriving in Thunder Bay, she has been involved with numerous community groups as an Actor, Drama Coach, Dramaturge, Stage Manager and Director. Jelena taught drama and dance as an arts educator through Learning Through The Arts (LTTA) and Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP). |
SHEENA ALBANESE, PROJECT MANAGER
Sheena has been engaged in theatre for several years, mainly as a director and actor in community theatre work. Her initial theatre training was at the University of Winnipeg, followed by a Masters degree in Theatre and Drama from the University of Guelph in 1999. Following this, Sheena worked at the Glenbow Museum as the museum theatre lead, collaborating with theatre practitioners to create original live theatre in a museum setting. Sheena has also worked as a teacher in school and postsecondary settings as well as teaching drama classes at Magnus Theatre in Thunder Bay. In the early 2000s Sheena was engaged as director for Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre where she collaborated with writers and directed original or adapted works for the stage. Sheena also served on the board and executive of Theatre Ontario for a number of years, gaining insight into the community and professional theatre landscape in Ontario and the importance of developing artists and audiences. Sheena is one of the original members of the 10by10 collective. |
